Join fellow WashU community members as we kick off our Carnegie Classification for Community Engagement journey — learn what it means and how your work shapes our story. The event will take place at Clark Fox Forum, Hillman Hall, Danforth Campus.
The Carnegie Classification for Community Engagement is an elective classification that recognizes U.S. colleges and universities for their institutionalized commitment to community engagement. This kickoff event will build awareness of the self-study process, celebrate the community engagement work already underway across WashU, and unite our efforts across schools to deepen our impact in and with St. Louis.
Our kickoff will be led by Dr. Patrick M. Green, a Carnegie-trained consultant for the Community Engagement elective classification and Executive Director of the Center for Engaged Learning, Teaching, and Scholarship (CELTS) at Loyola University Chicago. A nationally recognized leader in community-engaged teaching and scholarship, Dr. Green brings extensive experience helping institutions embed community engagement into their curriculum.
