Marissa Hardwrict, PhD, is a transformative leader in higher education, with over 17 years of experience designing, implementing, and leading impactful educational programs, professional development initiatives, and community-engaged research collaborations. She specializes in fostering equitable learning environments, building strategic partnerships, and advancing workforce development for underrepresented populations.

Previously, Dr. Hardwrict served as education specialist and training navigator at the Alvin J. Siteman Cancer Center, where she led career development programming, equity-focused training initiatives, and trainee navigation efforts supporting early-stage investigators. Her leadership helped implement institution-wide strategies for professional development and training evaluation.

She is also the founder of MH Heartwork Consulting, providing services in career readiness, workforce development, and organizational growth. In 2024, she developed and led workforce training programs as a consultant for The Haven of Grace, supporting women transitioning to independent living.

Dr. Hardwrict holds a PhD in Educational Leadership & Policy Studies, a master’s degree in Adult and Higher Education, and a bachelor’s degree in Health Sciences and Administration. Her leadership has been recognized in the International Journal of Qualitative Studies in Education, She Leads Magazine, St. Louis American, and through awards such as the Drum Major Award (2024) and Educator Impact Award (2025).

An engaged community leader, she serves on the board of The Haven of Grace, where she is also chair of the Program Committee. She is a member of Empowered Thriving Communities, serving on the Policy and Advocacy Work Group. Dr. Hardwrict is an alumna of the Leadership St. Louis program (2024–2025), furthering her commitment to regional transformation and leadership equity.
